Bach Invention in F Major
The very well-known Bach Invention in F Major, BWV 779. The piano of today did not exist in Bach’s time, and the Inventions and Sinfonias were likely performed on Clavichord or Harpsichord. For these compositions, Bach used only keys which were acceptable to the tuning system of the time (now called meantone temperament). So we may have the advantage of hearing these pieces on the modern piano, but we have the real disadvantage of not hearing these pieces with the same subtle character of they key.
