Composing
I’m pleased to have developed a magic combination of skills, talents, knowledge, and experience that allows me to create music. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Music Theory and Composition from Towson University as well as an Associate in Arts, with honors, from Montgomery College. Commercial composition credits include: Title music for the audiobook productions of Star Surgeon and The Black Star Passes, The Bargain Basement Game Show theme for Treyhawk Productions, two songs (”Let Them Go” and “Heavenly”) for The Rude Mechanicals production of Much Ado About Nothing, and numerous compositions for productions by Prometheus Radio Theatre. You may view a relatively complete list of compositions and listen to some excerpts. Feel free to download some Royalty Free music to enjoy or use (a donation is appreciated). Better yet, subscribe to my Podcast and get my music projects automatically as I release them. Print music of original compositions is available from Splunge Music and C.L. Barnhouse. I am, of course, available for commissions and would be honored to compose-for-hire.
Voiceovers and Audio Production
I also manage to earn a coin or two from voiceover work. I have recorded, edited, and produced two audiobooks: Star Surgeon and The Black Star Passes, both available from Podiobooks.com. I provide the voice of Kevin Carson for the multi-episodic and award-winning audio theatre series The Arbiter Chronicles. I have participated in several productions at Librivox, and was the book coordinator for the project to record selected letters of Ludwig van Beethoven. Voice demos and booking information are available here on the ScottVox page.
On Stage
I was most recently seen on stage as Oscar Madison for the Columbia Community Players production of The Odd Couple. Favorite roles for Shakespeare productions include Costard in Loves Labours Lost with The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, and Clarence for The Rude Mechanicals production of Richard III. I have also performed in productions with The Chesapeake Music Hall, Rockville Musical Theatre, and Howard County Summer Theatre.
